Opinions on Focus

So in need of a new car. Will fix up the yaris but sick of it anyway so decided to trade up a little. Saw a pretty clean 1.6 petrol 2007 focus saloon in main dealers today, 1 owner, fsh all from the dealer, 2 years nct for about 5k straight. Paint wasn't perfect in places but that doesn't bother me to much.
What are these like reliability wise and mpg wise?

Henry Ford III

Reliabilty is ok. 40 mpg on a run. LX is a low level spec. though. I've no idea is it good value or not.

Yep thought about the spec after. When you're used to a 15 year old yaris any spec seems good. (Did drive it for 4 years with just lw radio working when meant listening to mass on a Sunday morning!!). That said 5k is a lot of money so I'm going to slow down and wait for something cheaper I think. Glad I'm not overly impulsive as if he had moved a little more on price I would have walked out of there that day with the keys.. Following bangernomics with interest at the minute.

Your getting a good one here as it comes from a main dealer. I'd look into it further.

I'd hold out for a better spec. At that age there will not be a significant difference in price between a base and decent spec model. Zetec or Ghia are nicer.
