Loosing day for me on day 3, which is suprising seen as how i have a general love in off coolmore and Moore

3.05 Ol Man River 2.5 pts win & .5pt Father Christmas @25s Hoping for an O'Brien Miracle here for a horse i loved as a 2yr old in the Ol Man, and have a feeling that Father Christmas might run a big race saver on him at a huge price

3.40 Anthem Alexaned 3pts e/w , suprised she won first time out, dran close to Hootenany who shoudl make the pace, she's an exciting horse cannot see this one outside the 1st 3 (only 20 add runners to overcome...)

4.20 Lucida 3pts win at 7/2, between her and Found, cant see the French filly handling the ground, so at the prices has to be Lucida

5.35 Bantry Bay .5pts e/w at 6/1 no real reason other than a small consiparcy theory in my head that Joesephs auld man would like to give him 1 winner at the meeting!

Liking the look of Tiggy Wiggy tomorrow. Very impressed with her last season and think that back at this distance she could be a major player

    Lucida. Lucida. Lucida.
    Same for me.

My biggest bet tomorrow won't even be at Ascot. Lawsons Thorns at 9/1 with Paddy Power in the 7:55 at Market Rasen. Don't need to say anything more than watch this ones race last time out. Should have won that day against the same kind of opposition that it faces tomorrow.

Think the probable blistering pace of the race and the ground will suit Limato very well. I've had a decent cut at 11/2.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,142 ✭✭✭akelly02

Im a tiggy wiggy man but given hannon and hughes form I cant see her winning, she will have competition for the lead aswell id say. Having said all that im having a double with her and lucida!

Anyone know if the competition for the Twilight Racing at Limerick winner has been selected yet....Both myself & my daughter have entered & I just want to know if we need to buy flipping tickets :)

How is Ol Man River 11/4. He may win but his 2 runs this year he has been near tailed off. Shocking price.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭jimjamcos

Hootenanny will take some catching! Limato still has a bit to prove after his last run and while Tiggy Wiggy is rapid, Anthem Alexander may improve past her for the sprint king. Still though, with such front end pace in the race I think it's tailor-made for Wards monster, he'll get a lovely toe into it, and it's been the target since this time last year. Have had a couple of bets on Hootenanny over last week.

Have also had a bet on the French Guineas winner Ervedya in Coronation. There's little between her on the two Irish fillies on last years form, she has a nice turn of foot which should suit tomorrows likely tactical race and I thought 9/2 with PP represented value.

Finally, while Ol' Man River has to be respected given AOB's form this week but just couldn't back him on what he's shown on track. Stravagante was hugely impressive lto at Epsom (very similar to Buratino earlier in week), looks a solid group horse in the making and will take a world of beating at 5/2 with PP.

I think Irish Rookie is a ridiculous price at 18/1. Have had an E/W play.

Irish Rookie is an obvious pick at the prices. Found looks overrated and is more exposed than the Meade horse yet is a fraction of the price.

Cant wait for the 3yo Sprint, best field of the week pound for pound IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,722 ✭✭✭posturingpat

Father Christmas getting a small punt by myself also. Joey spoke after his recent win as if he was expecting him to go a handicap route and breeze in. He must be showing plenty here to risk ruining that mark.

Had hootenanny last year but couldn't go in this year, the others will have caught up a bit physically and i can see him up with the pace early and folding.

Think the French filly is something special and will win if she handles the ground.

Amman bridge is a stinky plot too and I'd say tomorrow is the day.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,351 ✭✭✭✭Harry Angstrom

Wesley Ward will be on tomorrow's Morning Line. If he talks up Hootenanny the same way he talked up the Queen Mary winner, it'll be an Even money shot by the off :pac:

Doesn't Irish Rookie need juice in the ground?

2.30 Ascot Mirage 40/1 is a bit of a speculative one but I think she could prove a live shot at a big price. Sold for £380k on Monday to Fitri Hay, I think she was Jamie Osborne's first 2 year old winner for a good few years (think I heard him say it on ATR a month or so ago but could be wrong) and although it was a poor race she won with poor visibility she did it nicely in the end having been outpaced in the rear from the outset. She should improve a bundle for that run and I think she could surprise a few from her good berth in stall 6.

Our Joy on the 2:30 for me , lto she missed the break and left herself with an awful lot to do. Came like a train in the closing stages and was a short head 2nd. that was over 5 furlongs.
Big step up in class here but I think it's capable. 12/1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 698 ✭✭✭Sirtoyou

Gold Trail ew 5.00 @12/1 with PP and BFSB paying 5 places is a cracking ew value play. Same connections that brought us Space Age yesterday. 12/1 is bang on price on the machine for the win but we get 3/1 the place on a horse currently less than 11/4 on the 4 place market.

Lucida ew 4.20 WHill going 4/1 in the morning currently trading 4.7win and 1.6 place.

Ervedya ew 4.20 PP @9/2 again beats the machine on the win currently 5.3 and smashes the place price of 1.75 where we get 2.125.

Playing both against the jolly and the poor showing of the Irish guineas form this week.

Tatlisu @14/1 ew 5 places b3.65 and BV.

Just backed Illuminate at 4/1, I was very impressed with her debut. They really rate the filly it beat at Salisbury and it has since hosed up at Naas.

Going for Azhar in the first. Each way at 20-1

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16,096 ✭✭✭✭the groutch

not a huge price at 5/2, but the 6:40 Limerick is a woefully weak looking race, and Tom Dooley should be able to win this easily.

Im going for Tendu 14/1 e/w in the 3.40 at ascot. finished 1.5 lenghts behind limato and then a neck behind profitable after that. With Frankie booked instead of Kirby I think he can push a place.

6.20 Downroyal. Going for Thomas Ledger in this. hasnt ran in 255 days but is goes well on good to firm and back at 2 mile just might spring a surprise

Anybody know what WW said about Hootananey on The Morning Line?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,224 ✭✭✭jimjamcos

That dose Brian Gleeson may as well be a bookie PR rep. Making it seem as if they'll boost a price on track for a small stake. Having been at the Grand National, that's a an absolute joke. Overounds are ridiculous, something which he never highlights for a supposed "betting analyst". Your one Tanya mentions it now and again to be fair though
