Printer required with these physical dimensions

Hi,

I have a printer at home that slots into a recess under my desk. Its nice and tidy there. However, its decided to give up the ghost, and now I need a new one. The old one was a HP Deskjet 843C. The benefits of it were that it fit the hole in the desk, and it was front loading. So I could put the paper in the front, it'd start printing, and the paper would come back out the front.

So now I'm looking for the same. I don't really care about Wifi or Fax or Scan etc. Its right next to the PC and router so USB/Ethernet connection is fine.

So to recap, I'm looking for a printer with the same dimensions, that has a front loading paper tray.

Here are the dimensions of the current printer:

Width
446 mm (17.5 inches)
Depth
355 mm (13.8 inches)
Height
185 mm (7.2 inches)

Height is the most important there.

If someone could recommend me one, or point me in the direction of one, I'd be very appreciative. Budget is anywhere up to, say, 200.

It's at least 10-12 years ago since HP manufactured printers that size. I used a HP printer like that in the late 1990s early 2000s.

I know. That's basically why I'm looking for a similar sized one. For the better part of 10 years, I've had my computer desk built around it, so a different sized one will screw things up.

I'm considering getting another Deskjet 843C off eBay or somewhere, if I can't find a suitable one.

I saw some printers there that had a scanner on top, so potentially I could get one with the scanner, and front loading paper, and just not use the scanner. But like I said, its the height dimension thats the important thing.

Thanks for the link but I think it's too big. It says "H12" under the dimensions, which I'm presuming is inches. I need around 7 inches in height to fit in where the old printer is.

Maybe look in this direction

150mm high, which is less than your limit of 170mm

The only consideration would be changing inks where you would need to slide out the printer, but that seems bearable. Personally, I'd replace the shelf with a roll-out shelf so that I could also use the scanner easily, ymmv

No, it's cm. You can see that after the depth measurement. Only something like an office LaserJet would be near 12 inches.
