[Long Shot] Grand Canal Westbound at ~ 1730 today (17 June)

    if anyone was cycling / driving along the grand canal westbound between Charlemont LUAS station and Harold's Cross between ~1720 and 1745 and has camera footage, I would appreciate a PM.

    Was involved in an incident with a car and have a partial number plate. Hoping someone either passed the car involved or witnessed the incident. Just looking for footage at this point.

    p.s. A number of cyclists stopped to see if I was ok. If you stopped, I really appreciate it - never been this scared before.

    From reading in between the lines. I'm guessing a car struck the op and I'm presuming they were a cyclist.

    There was a person in a car driving without reasonable consideration in rush hour traffic. If you think you may have any relevant information, please contact Rathmines Garda station on 01 666 6700.


    And yes... I realise this happens all the time but this incident has really shaken me given the behaviour of the driver - I've been cycling and driving in Dublin for years and it takes a lot to unnerve me.

    Apologies for the vagueness but I would appreciate your respect the moderator's comments. The incident has been reported to the Gardai.



    Note to self: Time to invest in a proper dashcam / bike-cam for my car + bicycle I guess... The one day I need a working phone, my battery is dead so I have nothing but my observation to report to the Gardai.
