Best place to buy a car battery in Dublin?

    Need a new battery for a Peugeot 307, anybody recommend somewhere in Dublin (I will fit it myself)

    Any motor factors or Halfords. Google local places and ring to check they have the right battery for your car.
    The shop will take the old battery back free of charge under WEEE scheme.

    Cheers got sorted, 60 blips, however, exact same battery in halfords was 105!!!

    Their retail prices on batteries are a bit bonkers, halfords trade card gives a big discount off.

    I go to halfords as there is bigger choice of battery and I take the opportunity to upgrade to one with bigger AH and ACC that will physical fit in car.

    Yes but halfords own brand batteries have a very short life compared to say varta or yuasa.

    Varta make the halfords own-brand batteries AFAIK. Not sure if they're lower spec but I've bought loads of them over the years and I've not had any issues. I bought the one in the civic in 2012 and it's still good.

    Halfords batteries were actually a low spec yuasa battery made to a price point,up to this time last year.They have a new supplier now.There is a thread on pistonheads about them.The one i purchased for an E39 lasted 2 and a half years.Every other battery i have ever purchased lasted at least 4 years.

    If you have a specific battery in mind then the motor factors can usually get it for you.
    i got a decent Bosch battery for mine from autocare in Dundrum.
