I recently got an iPhone off my auntie who had let it fall into water. She dried it out etc but it still wont turn on. I read about isopropyl alcohol and that but Im wondering because it has been a few months since the iphone got water damaged - is it a lost cause? Has anyone ever tried this before?

Unless you think you have a good chance of fixing it yourself I wouldn't bother. I'd drop it into these guys https://e-tech.ie for a quote another option would be paying the out-of-warranty fee (price depends on model) and get apple the exchange it for a new one.
