Small but annoying issue with car is upon start up it bongs and says wiper fulid low but it's not it's full so I'm guessing the sensor is faulty triggering the message, I can't seem to see any sensor are these handy changed?

Also it gives message the odd time brake light bulb not working when they all are, I took them out cleaned connections but still happens any ideas about this?

Finally, it's a 1.8tdci zetec diesel model does this have the wet belt and if so how often does it require to be changed? The actual timing belt I think is 100k is that right, cheers

Not sure on the messages part, probably dodgy connection.

Yes, the 1.8 has the two belt set up, Ford recommend 125k miles, but they are known to snap pre maturely. Anyone I know of, including mechanics say to get it done at 100k

Can't help but my 08 mondeo is doing exactly the same thing. Washer warning flashing up occasionally when the car is started although it is full. Brake light also flashing up although I do actually need one replacing! Watching this thread with interest

If im not mistaken i think the sensor is part of the washer bottle if it was mine id just cross the wire on the sensor.

As for the brake bulb issue are all the bulbs working on your third brakelight ?? Or have you replaced any of the other bulbs lately ??

Timing belts are due at 200k km but if i was you i would replace it asap unless you have a full certified service history.
If either belt breaks its either a complete engine rebuild or new engine neither of which is cheap.

have had a good look and cannot find the washer level sensor it must be in the bottle itself?

The brake light warning still appearing even though they all working and havent been changing them at all

So the wet belt is best changed around 100k am i best to get both changed then?

    cheers

Had the same problem with the brake light warning myself about 4 weeks ago. I checked all the lights nearly everyday and they were all working. Last weekend, 3 bulbs went (1 at front, 2 at back). Maybe it had some way of saying that their on the way out?

Also, the seat belt light keeps flashing on mine when I have a passenger. Starts flashing/beeping for a few seconds and then stops - but comes back again after a few minutes! Im suspecting that a resistor or something is faulty or broke.

Yep, if your car has circa 100k miles on it, I'd be getting the timing belt changed. It comes as a kit, with the 2 belts included. Generally costs around 700 or maybe a bit more to do.
