    H,i seen this bird about 2 hours ago between Roscrea and birr,this guy was sitting on the pole oblivious to the cars whizzing by, I stopped the car and turned around and drove back and got a good look with the binos,by the time I got the camcorder out he flew off but the wife got this snap, I presume its a buzzard but there was very little white if any on this guy and it was big. when I passes him first I was only about 30 feet and got a full frontal view,just a glance as I was driving but there was a reddish patch on the top of the breast by the neck, can anyone confirm what it probably is,cheers

    Probably is a buzzard. Their adult plumage is the most variable of any BOP, going from very dark to extremely pale.
