Doctor what next

Hi All, Ok so went to Doc about 2 months ago and got all the tests done and everything came back fine with no issues to report.
I have regular periods anything between 29 and 32 days.

Doctor said everything looks fine, sending hubbie for sperm sample and then told me to just focus on loosing some more weight (I'm down a stone in the 2 months and still going) and to continue to have sex every 2 day's which we are doing.

What should be next step? We're TTC a very long time now and I'm just afraid there is something stopping me that the GP can't see.

Would you suggest a gyno visit or to just continue with the GP plan for now?

Depends on a couple of factors I think - your age, how long you've been trying, that sort of thing, and if you GP did all the tests, not just the bloods, but AMH test, HSG Xray or ultrasound and the like.

I'd say ask for a fertility referral, any further tests you'll need gynalogically they'll organise for you anyway. Time can slip away very quickly on a public waiting list, so if time is not on your side, then you'd be better to go straight to a private fertility appointment. While fertility isnt covered under most health insurers, any gynae ones are.

I would agree with the advice given above, and add to it by mentioning that one can also be unsuccessful over a long period even if all of the tests come back rosy for both of you.

I was in this bracket myself with my other half, we eventually decided to go down the (pricey) road of ICSI with a renowned local private clinic, where they openly told us that they had no idea why we could not conceive naturally.

Sorry for stupid question but would any obs gyn do fertility testing it is that specialised? I'm considering getting few basic tests done but only due to age and being proactive. Only had baby 8months ago so not trying that long this time as cycle only back 2 -3 months.

From my experience, both can request the same tests or prescribe the same meds, but it is down to the individual gynae. My GP was a qualified gynae but referred me to the clinic. You'd be able to request the various blood tests at your GP, but for the likes of the AMH test which they like to do for women of a certain age, a fertility clinic would take those blood tests.

    Thanks all for your responses.
My GP only did the blood tests none of the others.

Will see how things go over the summer and then if still nothing then will ask him to referr me to fertility for further tests.

I am 32, we have been trying for almost 2 years now.

Got day3 bloods done today. Given my history gp thinks of bloods come back good to wait couple more months before referral as believes fertility specialist wouldn't do anything else just yet. In fairness it's only been 2 cycles. Maybe a specialist would want min 6.
