    Hi

Does anyone have any real world experience with the above car

    - what's it like to live with
    - what's it like on the juice. mpg figures
    - servicing costs
    - any known issues

I know a newer version came out in late 08 or 09, is that the same engine ?
I also know they are very rare in this country
id be looking at a Saloon

Sorry I have no experience of them or know anything much about them but I think they still have the same K20 engine the 03-08 model had (or a variant of it)

Like you said they're ridiculously rare and any that are here are UK imports. There was a red 10 model in auto for sale not too long ago on donedeal.

I'd imagine due to the size/weight of the car, mpg would be in the low to mid 30's on a manual and possibly lower on an auto model.

I'll be in the market for a newer car next year and considering looking to the UK for a manual petrol Accord but haven't taken to doing any research on them yet.

I have heard the manual is better, is there a reason for getting the auto box? the petrol being a honda is as reliable as you can get, still needs the routine services like all cars but you cant go wrong with the engine.

the sunroof is prone to rusting and had had recalls so might be worth looking for non sunroof models.

Its a very good car by all accounts, i admire people who buck the trend and don't buy daysuls or cars everyone else has for cheap tax or whatever and get a refined petrol instead.

the ex model will have all the toys, actually i toyed with getting a ex model instead of my lexus but i got mine for such a good price i could not say no.

a subaru legacy is also a pretty good car, think they come in 2 litres ( and 3..) and will be also very reliable.

I just prefer auto boxes to be honest, plus im lazy and like to waft around ☺

Ah yeah........I dont need a daysul due to relatively low miles

I had an 09 types s 2.0 manual was lovely car and no problems in the year I had it. Only reason I changed was wanted a focus ST and decided now was the time to do it! They are quiet good on petrol think I used to get near 700km to a tank. Was the 03-08 model I had the cl7.

best bet is drive an auto 8th gen and see how it goes, if you are brave import a 2.4 ex from England. It will be very rare in Ireland and its one of them I was very close to getting.

If you do get a 2.4 ex in auto some have ADAS which is very rare indeed (lane keep assist) as well as XENONS, not all 8th gen had them.

I'd say the dreaded vrt would be horrible because of their high co2 rating. Having recently returned to petrol after too many years driving diesels I love the super silent petrol experience. Sorry not much help to you op but just watch out for that dreaded vrt.

The ADAS would be completely pointless in this country where there are bugger all roads it would be useful on and when you do have decent roads you Have so many idiots using the wrong lane that you are constantly on the watch yourself and so the ADAS is obsolete.

^^ right there ted, if you done long distance driving on motorways its useful.

As for petrols being silent, after getting my car all I can say is silence is golden. I will never get a diesel in my lifetime.

what else do you need to know? a 2 litre auto is fine. A 2.4 Ex would be very nice if you can suck up vrt and a trip to England and you will get HID lights also.

They had a recall on a rusty sunroof IIRC.
