Impulse Noise Protection only on a Fixed Profile?

    Hi,

I had my broadband speed on a fixed profile for a few weeks. It is now on an "Auto profile" which is allowing higher speeds.

I noticed while been on the fixed profile INP was enabled as it showed 30 symbols in the router menu for downstream and upstream.

Now, however, I notice there is only 2 symbols showing for downstream and upstream.

My question is, can Vodafone turn on INP for an auto profile or is it for a fixed profile only does anyone know?

I also notice from the hidden lines on the Vodafone router that the downstream and upstream delay (ms) is showing as 8 for each whereas before on the fixed profile it was showing as 0.

    Thanks...

If this is VDSL, I wonder have they taken you off G.INP and put you back onto fastpath interleaving?

The delay ms changing from 0 to 8 would imply interleaving has been enabled

Yeah VDSL. Is it simply a case of ringing up and asking for it to be enabled? The line is at its max i.e. SNR downstream at 6/7. Does INP need more headroom to work or should it be fine?
