I've a 206 and just noticed the coolant bottle was totally empty. Can I just top up with water now or should I wait to get coolant/antifreeze, getting varying reports online
I'm thinking a water shoosing noise when I accelerate is related to this as i been hearing for a few days

If you can walk or get a lift to get the correct type of coolant do that. There are different types and some don't mix well.

If you have to drive before you can get the correct coolant, use water.

Tbh, there's a problem there and it may be aswell to just fill with water until the problem is identified and fixed. Anything you put in now is likely to disappear wherever the last amount went...

If it has gone that low there may be air bubbles in the system that need to be bled out.

Fill with water and take it to a mechanic if you are not confident in fixing it yourself.

Keep an eye on temperature - stop and turn off engine if needle starts rising beyond normal.

As above, just fill with water. Its fine in the short term until the leak is sorted.

Thanks for that. I'll fill with water and get it looked at Asap.
