Thinking of getting a new second hand tractor for dairy farming. I know the TS115A can turbos up to 130hp. Can this also be done with the TM120?

Why choose a Tm over a TS?

probably tm 120 although I do hear good reports about the ts

id go for the tm120 if not a bigger one tm135 150 155 as they would be similar money and you will get suspension cab on the bigger tractors

have a ts with a sle gearbox I think it is anyway, its ok has had the clutch done

doesn't cope well with road haulage abuse ! :)

I am under the impression that TM is more a tillage farmers tractor while the TS is more a dairy tractor ( being smaller and having a smaller turning circle)

Not nessasairly a tillage over dairy thing but yes it is a size change. The TM is bigger then the TS so more suitable for working bigger machines. Neighbour had a TM115 same engine as the the TS but bigger chassis needed to extra weight as he was using a 2000 gallon tank.

Would a TS115 not have trouble pulling a 2,000gal tanker on hills?
Or was it a turboed TS115?

The TM had a turboed engine think it's about 125hp. Used it few times myself and it worked well. The problem with a big tank is that it can bully the tractor so you need the weight.

What are you planning to use it for?

ts115 turbo is well able for a 2000 tanker, I have pulled trackmachines behind one and while the going was slow up the hills it was well able for it

Hoping to pull as big a tank as is I can on hilly heavy land. Going for very wide tyres, which will require greater pull. Will choose something in the region of 1,600-2,000 gallon tanker. Also undecided about whether to use a TS115 or a TM120?

It sounds like the tm120 might be better in your scenario, fair weight in 2000 gallons so if on hilly ground the extra weight of the TM would be better

But the TS will be better around the yard I'd say as more manouverable

If it was me in your situation, I'd go for the the TS.
Both are great machines, I don't have that much experience with the TS, but I have a lot of experience with the TM and older 8060 series.
Yes the TM will be better than the TS at pulling a tank, however the TS will be better around the yard than the TM, but as a dairy farmer you would be doing a lot more yard related work than slurry id imagine!
