I pay 500 a month for a 2br and now prices rental rates in my town have gone from 500 to 700 - 800. There is only one property on daft for rent there is so much demand. I am on disability so any increase will force a move. Rent allowance is not an option especially with rising rents. Has anyones rent increased this year when you renewed your lease?

Rent has been going up for a few years now. If you haven't had an increase in recent years, the landlord is either happy enough to leave the situation as is, e.g. you don't bother him, he doesn't bother you, or he is about to increase the rent.
