Hi guys, first time buying a car this week and I've been in contact with someone selling an Opel Astra 02 1.4 for 1,100.

Great, looks good. It has only passed the NCT in the past week and the tax has expired more than 120 days ago. There is no finance agreement on the car and there has been 130,000 miles on it. The owner also said there is 4 new shocks, 2 new tyres and back breaks, and that the only problem was a rip on one of the seats.

Do you guys think the price is right or do you think the owner is hiding something?

I will have a friend come with me to check out the basics on the car

It's a 13 year old not so popular car. The price is right tbh.

Thanks, just the answer I was looking for! How much would I be spending to replace the timing belt?

    A couple hundred anyway.
I'd just buy another car in that case.

If I were on a budget and in Wexico, I'd be looking at this

Loads of Astra to choice from online, look for with recent cambelt change with receipt to prove, not a bad car if you find one well looked after, i have a 98 club with multifunction steering, sunroof, spotlights,
    not bad for a 98.
