Hoping to book a last minute self catering week in July. 3 adults,2 and half year old and newborn so a 3 or 4 bed house will do. Would like somewere close to a beach but also access to a local pool or hotel with a pool and maybe playground. And close to a town or village with a few shops/pubs/restaurants! Had a look at Rosslare and Banna near Tralee,is there anywere else that boardsie's might recommend?

Gonna bump this as I'm planning summer holidays! We now have 4 year old and 2 year old. Last year we spent a brilliant week in Clonakilty, got great deal on a house and weather was fab. Year before we toured Donegal, year before that we went to Westport. So now looking for suggestions as per above-self catering near to beach,village/town with shops/pubs/restaurants etc...Any recommendations??

Galway is an option. Have gotten a few quotes, some very pricey. Got a good quote for house in Morriscastle Village,Kilmuckridge and another house near Dunmore East.....both nice houses. Never been to either place but they seem nice

    Hi Toby,

How about Wexford town? Self catering at the Talbot Suites, Stonebridge maybe?

    http://www.talbotsuites.ie

Swimming pools available 2 mins walk at the Talbot Hotel (could be free for guests of Stonebridge...not sure about this but worth asking) or the recently refurbished Wexford Municipal pool at Ferybank, a 5 minute drive over Wexford bridge. Beaches too many to mention but Curracloe 10 minute drive, Rosslare Strand or St. Helens 20 mins drive plus numerous others scattered all along the SE coast.

I have no affiliation with the above, just had the chance to stay a night in th Talbot Hotels self catering apartments at Stonebridge and they are really nice, 2 min walk from Main Street shopping, restaurants etc.

Best of luck with the hols.

    D.

Try Kenmare Bay have self catering houses and you get full use of hotel facilities about a ten min walk into Kenmare
