My girlfriend is getting a car soon but she can't drive manual (Australian) so she's looking at getting an automatic hatchback for under €5k. There doesn't seem to be much around and any we've found are mostly Corsas or Micras.

Where would be the best place to look for automatics and what cars would people recommend? I wouldn't buy privately so would have to be from a dealer.

    Toyota Prius?

Should be able to get a 2005 and nicer to drive than the others mentioned.

Pre 2003 1.3 Yaris would be a good starting point.

Loads of bmw and Mercedes automatics under 5k available. Might not be what she is looking for though. Autos hard enough to find in Ireland apart from cars expensive when new and in the executive class.
