Imagine Wimax Broadband

Hi thinking of getting Imagine broadband here in Mallow Co.Cork , does anyone have experience of Imagine ,they say unlimited but then there is a fair usage policy ...so cant understand how they can advertise unlimited .. Any advice please

I have Eircom stand alone broadband but its very expensive, no phone at all only broadband. All i just get is 3 mg . While its unlimited i just think there must be a cheaper solution

Surely phone and broadband with eircom would be cheaper than just broadband.

Pure telecom are doing unlimited fixed line broad band for €36. Called "purely broadband"

Had Wimax in Ashbourne for a number of years, got consistent 8+ down, and .5 Up, package also included phone calls, and it was cheaper than anything that Eircom (or any others) could offer at the time, and the only reason for moving off it recently was the arrival of Fibre, which now gives me 80 down, and 13 up, also with Imagine.

There is a fair usage policy, but in a number of years, we never hit it, though I don't download movies. Reliability was good, and in theory, while it's 8 down, it seems that in some cases, if there's more than one thread running, they all get a good speed, and the total combined speed does seem to work out at more than 8 total.

If you don't have a wired alternative that's faster, then Wimax is a reasonable option, and will be cheaper than a wired phone line with broadband on it.

Hi again.. everyone in the house has a mobile phone.. Eircom phone was never used so we got rid of it. but Eircom are still charging full price for a line that only carries broadband to my house

Broadband and phone is often cheaper than just broadband

Pure Telecom looks ok, 36 euros per month, no landline fee.

Pure Telecom are a disaster especially if you have a problem. I'd be steering clear of them.

so is imagine would never go back to them ever again robbing thiefs.Im remember when I was with them I stay with them for 6 months didn't like the services I was getting so cancel it. I had pay for the other 6 months so I did they ring me up a month later saying they made a mistake I owe them more money.I was stupid should told them to F off and call comreg and report them but I didn't :mad:.That main reason I hate that company.
