    Thanks

It's definitely an official NRA motorway service area. All the others so far have been run by Applegreen.

It'll have been tendered - there is no automatic bulk deal with Applegreen.

Sorry, that is what I was saying but wasn't very clear. It definitely is an official online service area. As you say anyone can tender to operate it.

If its anything like the fiasco at Inch service area on the M11, which is built but closed as the geniuses at the nra didn't organise any one to run the shop there....

That's BAM who have to organise that, not the NRA.

The tender was awarded to Topaz but Applegreen are challenging the decision in the courts.

    Cue long delay...

Incorrect, it's tied up in the same court case as Athlone and Kilcullen. Incidentally the case was called to the Commercial Court during the week and should be finished within a month.

Judgement was reserved so it's in the lap of the gods now.

It means the judge needs some time to consider their verdict - could be weeks before the decision is released.

Closing this thread as Moate will open by the end of the year and there is a better thread that covers all new service areas here.
