Esso Diesel Fuel

I went to an Esso station locally. I do not buy fuel there normally, but decided to try out for a change.

The first thing I noticed was the familiar residue on the dispenser around where the nozzle was hung. I remember seeing this in places selling SVO or biodiesel fuel. I ignored this fact and started pouring the fuel into the tank. Then I took the nozzle out a bit and noticed the unusual yellowish colour of the fuel. That can't be right I though, and decided not to filling the tank fully and only put in 20 litres (and then topped up in a different station). I asked the guy in the counter about the unusual colour, but he said that other customers do notice this as well, however this is the "Standard Esso Diesel Fuel".

Did any of you notice this in any Esso station? Surely, this can't be good for a modern Diesel engine...
