Moving to Tuam. Broadband question

    Hi!

We are about to move to Tuam from galway city. And so far we havent decided which broadband provided to go with.
Currently we are with UPC with the Horizon bundle, but they told us already that this is not available in Tuam. And that they only offer 30Mbs

Eircom and Vodafone both offer 70Mbs.

If someone could let me know how good the speeds are for Eircom and Vodafone during peak times would be much appreciated.
I just want to make sure I get a good provider as my wife works from home.

    Thanks for any advice!

    Hi.
What part of Tuam are you moving to?
I'm with Vodafone simply broadband usually get between 50 - 70 mb connected with a wire. Bit less over WiFi.

    Hi gerard2210,

Thank you for the information. I am moving to Bealch Na Gaoithe on the Galway road.

I ran Vodafone, but the problem is that I need the broadband active before we move, which Vodafone said they cant promise me as they rely on eircom.

There is a cabinet at the entrance to the estate beside you. "Woodfield". Your speed should be quite high. >80Mbps

MNDS UPC will be pretty poor. Wouldnt opt for that. Vodafone will be your best bet.

If theres a landline installed already they can give you broadband within a week or so, but if the line has been off for more than a year then you wanna allocate several weeks of possible downtime.
