Sales role at HP

Hi, I have an interview with Hp for a Sales role, and I was hoping to get some information on the interview, and on what is like to work there (particularly in the Sales Department, but in general as well).
Also, what are the benefits there? I have heard of a free gym, but no much more than this.
Do you know if there are any other benefits (free cantine, bus shuttle, health insurance, pensions..) Any information at all would be much appreciated.
    Thank you all! :)

If it's a direct position with HP you get the below as standard.

Canteen is not free. Cost is usually between 5-7 euro for a meal. Occasional free meal through vouchers. There are a few legacy factory workers with free lunches in their contracts but most staff don't get much.

Free small gym, free circuit type classes at roughly 12:30 and 5:30, Mon to Fri. Tends to be busy at lunch and 5:30-6:30.

There is a shuttle to Celbridge train station and one that loops from Maynooth, the site and Leixlip.

    Lots of parking on site.

You get standard health insurance free for you, your partner and children. You pay the BIK.

Pension is scaling, end is 6% from you, 8% from them.

4 times salary as death benefits and a 1/3 wages pension for dependants.

Hp is going through a time time at the moment, the site is going to split into two companies. So referring to locations on site, standards in terms of areas you are seated in, extra perks is pointless, they could change greatly over the next 2 years.

I don't know much about Sales besides the fact that they all wear the same clothes as each other, slacks, light blue shirt, tie, in ear bluetooth headset at all times.

Moved out from the other thread, as this is about Sales which is very different to the tech/support desk roles in most companies.

Thanks! Very informative. I have not been said much about benefits yet. I have gone through the initial interview only, and will go for a final interview soon. Do you have any tips for the interview? I understand it could be different depending on the role, but perhaps there is something connected to the company culture, etc that I should know?

Without working in the specific team, no idea. There are close to 6 thousand people on site and there are so many varied work environments and subcultures within that.

It's been pretty much all over the news that HP are splitting into two companies - do you know which of the two you'd be working for, and if there are any long term plans around that, eg splitting them into different buildings etc.

I have not been given much details on the positions yet. But my understanding is that I would be looking after the Software Side.. Therefore I should be working for Hp enterprise.
It would be very interesting to see how they are going to manage the separation!

FIY, not really related with the interview, but working in the HP campus, the cell coverage there is pretty bad, unless you've Vodafone, any other network, an you'll be lucky to have just enough signal for a text message.

Thanks, it's good to know. I don't use Vodafone at the moment.. So I would need to switch over if I get the job, I guess.

    Thanks for the info! ;)

Mods decide to get rid of my post why i dont know, i genuinly thought it was a position at hp sauce, when i see hp i think sauce not it hewlit packard, op you should say hewlit packard if thats what you ment in your thread title

shamrock55, even if you genuinely thought that the post was about the company that makes the brown sauce, the fact that you love it is still irrelevant to the OP's question about what it's like to work there!

Please only post in Work and Jobs if you can contribute something sensible to discussion, keep the recreational-style posting to the forums set up for it.

And don't question a mod-action on thread again.

    Thank you.
