    Time for the latest instalment in 'journey into the sunset for old media' with the May 2015 ABC numbers.

    • UK newspapers in Ireland morning market down 7% YoY. 16,213 less newspaper sales per day.
    • UK newspapers in Ireland Sunday market down 8% YoY. 26,004 less newspaper sales each Sunday.
    • Big droppers: Mirror down 17%, Star Sunday down 18%, People down 20%, Daily Record down 35%.
    • Increases: Sunday Post selling a tiny 302 more copies, small increases in Telegraph and Times sales.
    • Sunday Times Irish sales down to 81,534 per edition.
    • In the UK, The Daily Mail on Sunday now outsells the Sun on Sunday. Also, the Daily Mail sales are decreasing at a much slower pace than the Sun.

    I got a mail from a very reliable fella some time back saying that the Daily Record was pulling out of Ireland which I quoted. I was (marginally) flattered when Roy Greenslade picked up on it and quoted it which was hastily followed by a serious denial by the Record which Roy published...

    They are now at 280 copies per day, so as far as I'm concerned, distributing only/mainly in the North/North West is pulling out!
