Any handy way of weeding spuds.

Weeds growing either side of drill and in and around the plant

Have been pulling them out by hand but hard on the back and takes ages!! Not a massive area but too big for doing it by hand

An old horse grubber or triple K harrow with the tines set to miss the spuds.
Grub them and mould them up with a ridger.

It would indeed scorch them, particularly if they're up well, and they should be by now.
You can of course spray them on a calm day, with a knapsack, with the lance held down low in the alley avoiding the spuds foliage. This may not be possible if they're met across in the drills.

Knew a lad that when he planted his few drills at home would spray the weedlings as they emerged before spuds stalks emerged. Used to keep his drills fairly clean. I know that Basta used to used spray potatoes but not sure at what stage and not sure if it is still allowed.
