    Hi guys,

A friend of mine has just moved into a new house and already has a Samsung 4k TV.

He requires something to do the following:

    - Blu-ray/DVD playback
    - CD playback (classical music afficianado)
    - Better TV sound (he was going to get a soundbar)
    - Ipod Touch (5th Generation) connectivity to playback music

I suggested (I would have to wouldn't I) an all in one home cinema system, rather than the separates he was going to look at, and have now been lumbered in justifying that!

I was going to look at Samsung AIO's considering the brand of TV, but would you have any (i.e. better) suggestions? His budget would be around €300.

    Thanks!

    Thanks for your message colhickey,

Can I just check is he wanting to do surround sound or just stereo?

If he's wanting to do surround sound, to be honest it would be difficult to do within the budget to cover everything
    He could look at the Pioneer VSX329 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200613-vsx329.aspx - at €199, matched up with the likes of Pioneer S-HS100 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-11012-s-hs100.aspx - at €149 plus a Samsung BDH550 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200228-bdh5500.aspx - €79.99 but at this he'd be in and around €428

If stereo, and music seems to be the priority from what you've said, he'd be better off going for a stereo amplifier with bookshelf/floorstanding speakers
Have a look at the Cambridge Topaz AM1 amp - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-10602-topaz-am1.aspx - at €119, paired with Mordaunt Short M20 speakers - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200630-m20.aspx - at €149 and the Samsung bluray at €79, he's closer to budget at €347

He could also go for the Mordaunt Short M10 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200629-m10.aspx - at €69.99 if he has to keep under the €300 mark

If he wanted to go the soundbar/base route, the one I'd recommend is the Cambridge TV2 - http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-200929-tv2.aspx - at €269 along with the bluray

To be honest if the music is the priority, he'd be better to go the stereo separates route for best sound

Hope this helps, and give me a shout if I can help with any other queries

    Cheers
    Brian
