Fuel Allowance & Household Benefits Package Disallowed

I live at home with my parents and am in receipt of casual jobseekers allowance as I only work 3 days a week. My father has been unemployed for the last few years and was receving jobseekers allowance and the fuel allowance. Recently he was put on disability and the disability department said he wouldn't qualify for the fuel allowance because I live in the house. When he enquired about the household package he was told the same thing.

I can understand the household package (even though I don't agree with it) as I'm not in receipt of a qualifying payment, but the fuel allowance is confusing me. Jobseekers allowance is a qualifying payment for it so how can they take his away on the basis that I'm an unqualifing person in the house? I spoke to someone in the social welfare office who sent me out a form to apply for it instead, as it didn't make sense to her either....I got turned down because my father is now counted as an unqualifing person in the house because the disability section turned him down! Is there anyway around this? I hate the fact that I'm losing them money but I can't afford to move out.

bummer. very strict rules with that department.if you hate them losing money because of you, you could always pay them the fuel allowance per week, what is it €20, until you get to move out, then when you move out they can reapply for it.
