My avensis has a button with a picture of a car and the wifi symbol which I can only assume is actually a wifi hot spot .does anyone know if it is actually a wifi button and if so how do I use it and if yous have a Web link that would be appreciated.thanks

Could be a button to disable the alarm while inside the car, I seen this button before on a Focus I had.

Could also be a button for traffic alerts for the radio.

I think that is to disable the internal motion sensors for the alarm, so you can lock your dog in the car. :)

WiFi hotspot in yer Toyota - 3year warranty n all

The fitment of two 3G antennae mean that WiFi is available at high speeds, and the system can cope with even the harshest conditions, remaining fully operational at temperatures twenty below freezing. A three-year warranty provides further piece of mind.

Ok so this button is to disable the internal motion alarm but I have fitted maybe 5/6 wifi hotspots to Avensis (genuine Toyota accessory) mounted in the armrest. http://www.toyota.ie/service-and-accessories/genuine-accessories/hotspot.json

    :-)

Used to work in a place with very strict IT policies, they had scanners looking for unauthorised or unsecured wifi networks and 2 displays assigned to logging them. Would often see XxTaxi or Yy Cabs or whatever appear and disappear as they passed by over 100m away.

Thought it was some new perk and they had all bought mifi dongles but maybe this accounts for seeing taxi hotspots so often.
