Let down mid way through a job

    Hi All,

I've been badly let down midway through a large job...

Bought a house last year that has needed a lot of work. I had paid some money up front to cover materials. I'd say job is 60% complete. House has been left in a mess with holes in walls, rads down etc. (We are living there, everything else is done).

I'm concerned that whoever finishes the job won't stand over somebody else's work (fair enough!) but it will mean I will have no recourse for any problems as nobody will take responsibility for the entire job.

Am I within my rights to seek a refund of everything I have paid the guy who has let me down? Any advice welcome...

If you have paid him more money than the valuation of work done you can look for a refund of the balance if not there's nothing you can do except look for new contractors to finish
