Has anyone used an omni directional antenna for picking up 802.11n?

    I want to share the connection with someone else to reduce cost....they are about 0.8km away....

    Or I could use a directional antenna to my neighbors house if signal quality could be an issue over long distances, when taking into account humidity, wind etc. etc.

    Best to get two Ubiquiti Nanostations M5s and make a point to point link.
