    Hi,
I wanted to brush up on my french before holidays. I got a C in honours leaving cert a longtime ago but now would be at the level of a second year student.

I was looking for a radio station at my level I could listen to.

    Any tips?

    Thanks.

For a pretty comprehensive list, see here: http://www.listenlive.eu/france.html

I listen to FranceInter. One of the big ones with a good mix of culture/news.

I doubt there are many radio stations catering to people learning the language specifically. In your case, it might be better to use one of the language learning suites; I don't have much experience with these but think Rosetta Stone etc. They seem a bit archaic now in the age of internet.

You can download a great free app, DuoLingo, which adapts to your level and encourages practice every day - including speaking and listening exercises. It also gives corrections/explanations.

Another thing I always found helpful was to watch French movies with French subtitles. This doesnt feel like learning as such as you're engrossed in what you're watching.. if this is a bit much, French films with English subtitles will help your ear accustom. Courage!

    try newsinslowfrench.com

you can listen to a podcast where they speak slowly about the news - it is designed for students. I have a similar level and I use it. While the free content is only a minute long, I listen to this two or three times , read the text I didn't understand etc. There are a few hundred podcasts although only the last 50 are available at any one time.

If you like it, then you can obviously pay to get the 30 minute weekly podcast.
