I know I already posted earlier but I do have a personal issue. I suffer from anxiety and I'm a very anxious person but my anxiety has increased these past few weeks due to my exams. Last month I had terrible sleeping problems and I could only get 3 hours sleep. It went away after about 2 weeks but it's back again and it's one day before my exams. I know it's because of stress internally. I'm not stressed in my mind but the pressure is always there. The last few days I have been waking early and unable to get back asleep. I woke today at 5 am and I've only gotten 5 hours sleep which is terrible because I have an English exam tomorrow. It's like when I wake Im fully alert. I've tryed relaxing but I just can't sleep. :/

Hi Avril, exams are a stressful time, what you need to learn are some stress reduction methods to help you handle how you feel and get some decent sleep.

Are you getting some help for your anxiety problems? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy can teach you a lot about how to deal with your worries in a healthier way, maybe talk to your parents about seeing a CBT therapist.

If you have a smartphone, there are lots of apps or even YouTube videos that will help you sleep. Look for guided meditations for sleep, or sleep hypnosis apps (I love one from Paul McKenna in the Apple Store).

Try including exercise into your study timetable short walk daily or some activity you enjoy just time for yourself. I find walking really good as you are getting out in the fresh air, clear the head and can think through or process through in your head what needs doing etc.. Stressful time for everyone but thankfully exams don't last forever. Can catch up on sleep when finished. Sometimes sleep disturbances are because too much on mind before going to bed write out lists maybe during day and tick off what's done and what needs doing. . Eat well, exercise and look after yourself is the main thing though and as long as you are working away you will be fine 😀
