I've a 2001 almera , recently got my clutch done as could feel gears not going up right and kind of slipping. Anyways be for I got that done there had been a noise intermittently breaking didn't happen often.

Today Ive been driving a little bit and noticed my brakes are slipping and not stopping in time. When I push down it feels like I'm pushing pedal alot further, and feels like it won't stop quick enough.
what could it be? Pads or something else? Noise is coming from the front. Will go garage tomorrow just wondering if it would just be pads could get them cheaper online than in a garage

Pads cost is about the same in a garage as online. The other cost is labour.
It could be pads or the brake fluid. When was either last changed?

Sorry I meant to buy online and have someone else put them in is cheaper by a lot.
I'll check the brake fluid now

Ok, often garages prefer to do their own sourcing of pads and discs. Best check before you buy anything.
If you buy the parts it won't affect the final by much anyway.

As this is not a DIY effort I am moving thread to main forum.
If you decide to give it a go yourself I will move it back.

Ok got discs and pads done by the mechanic down the road, since I got it done there has been a noise like a squeak or something rubbing over at left side while turn. Sometimes feels like it's something rocking in the car.
I brought it back and of course it wouldn't make the noise what so ever. He adjusted something near break pads and it stopped for a few days.
Any ideas what it could be now?
There is a small chance that the noise Was there the same time the brakes went so just befor so may not be related to brake at all

It was in the garage the week be for when the clutch went and I asked them to check for other problems they didn't mention brakes at all or any other problem. Could it be clutch related?
