Cycling gloves

After purchasing several pairs of mitts and gloves, I've yet to find a pair that helps lessen the road buzz and the onset of numbness in my hands. I've had a proper bike fit done so that rules out one solution to my issue. So can anyone recommend a good pair of gloves (I prefer them to mitts after a few spills where the gloves saved my hands from road rash) that would give me some protection against the onset of numbness.

    Thanks

Larger tyre and lower pressure will do the job the best. 28mm GP4000s at 5bar (front) - no hand numbness after yesterday's Mick Byrne, and some roads were pothole galores! Bog standard Aldi mitts with gel pads.

Another thing - don't grip the handlebar too hard on the descent. Relax slightly, keep your fingers wrapped but loose around drops.

Never thought of that as a solution. I'm on skinny low resistance tyres pumped up to the max. Guess they're transmitting every ripple straight up to my hands and wrists:o

    Thanks

Check http://www.bicyclerollingresistance.com/specials/conti-gp4000s-ii-23-25-28 - larger tyres roll better, and you don't loose much by lowering the pressure a bar or so - winning at the comfort field :D

Bar tape also plays a part. I'd highly recommend Zipp CX bar tape, it's very grippy and thick and absorbs quite a lot if road buzz. You can double wrap the bar tops if you wish (just leave your old tape on and wrap the new tape on top)

To add to the (very good) advice about bigger tyres, I always found Specialized gloves good for keeping numbness at bay. I used to have awful trouble but, in my case, a bike fit did the trick so I can now get away with cheapo gloves from Aldi/Lidl
