Hot Press Location

We are currently renovating a 2 storey semi d, the hoptpress is in the middle of the landing, taking up a lot of space, we were wondering is it possible to move the hotpress to the utility room? Would this effect water pressure to showers upstairs? We are getting all plumbing and heating systems replaced so whatever pipe work is necessary would probably not be a huge cost factor, as we are starting from scratch, or would it?

Have u considered a combo boiler which just heats hot water on demand so no HW tank.
Downside is no backup with immersion if boiler sits down.
On a gravity system long pipe runs have pressure loss, as well as wasting water in waiting for hot to come
On pumped systems you can have a timed circulation loop on the hot but it wastes energy also.
Bottom line keep hot water pipe runs as short as possible so if kitchen a long way from utility room maybe a small elec water heater under sink, especially if u have a dishwasher.
Slightly different thinking if you have "free" hot water from Solar thermal panels, an argument I don't subscribe to:)

Havent considered those options, if we are sticking with the hot water tank, the pipe run from utility to bathrooms upstairs is considered a long run then with pressure loss,is that what you are saying? Utility is next to kitchen so no issue there.

depends on what distance is involved and what pipe diameter, just re read your post so its a 2 storey semi D so front to back is maybe 12 metres, maybe less or more allowing for vertical runs also.
so if u have a bath, shower and who, the pipes will be 22mm diameter so area of pipe is 11 by 11 by 3.14 sq mm and by 12,000 for length of pipe divided by 1000,000 gives 4.5 litres of hot water gets wasted each time you run the tap in bathroom.
Pressure loss with 22mm will be less than for 15mm
