Has anyone heard anything about the recently advertised GRETB vacancies? Have you heard of anyone being called for interviews?

Please let me know if you have (here, or by PM).

They are supposed to be starting on the First of June.

For more information, google "Claregalway GRETB jobs". I'm unable to post a link.

They phoned me from HR on Friday to say there was an issue with my application and that they were in the process of short listing and I haven't heard anything since! They usually email details of interviews,at least they did last year!

Called for interview next week. Interview for an Irish teachers panel rather than a specific school. I unfortunately lose a days wages to interview for a job that may not be anywhere near where I can travel to for work!

Thanks, Flan. If you hear of any other interviews for other subjects, please let us know, or PM us.

All the best with your interview!!

Most will be in Merlin Collge, Galway and in Claregalway as they are only open a year

They are doing that with all subjects listed. Personally I think it's a load of crap and I work in a gretb school. Not much use being offered a job from this panel if you live near co. Roscommon ang the job offered is on the Aran Islands.

At this rate, I would relocate to the Aran Islands in order to get a teaching job. I have a teaching school for England in Sept but hoping something comes along in Ireland before Sept :/

Fair enough but for anyone with commitments like a house or family it would help to know where the jobs are.

Oh no I totally know where you're coming from I just mean from my perspective I would take anything as I don't want to go to the UK

Any word on interviews yet? I know someone who got a phonecall about an interview with the VEC for resource hours!

Agree. The neighbouring etbs have subject panels but advertise where the positions will be. I presume if you're shortlisted, they will contact you in advance to see if you are interested in attending for interview.

Thanks for that. I didn't hear anything yet - might ring HR tomorrow to find out about my own subject.
