I've paid to go to art museum's before. I wasn't allowed to take the works home with me, or touch them. I guess it was a total waste of money then?

I've paid to watch sporting events, music concerts, etc, etc....

It's entertainment. If you're entertained, it's worth it.

Calling something a 'total waste of money' should have some objective backing. I wouldn't pay to watch a World Cup Match, but it's not fair to say it's a total waste of money.
