Looking at the construction of a large steel frame and concrete walled warehouse locally.
What struck me was the speed of construction and how little labour was needed.

Would there be a drawback in constructing houses by this method?
Insulation, services and an acceptable facia could be added.

The only pro I can think of is that jet fuel wouldn't be able to melt the beams.

Cost is the major factor. The steel frame is usually used in construction where large uninterrupted spans are needed. Generally houses don't need those so the cost of the steel frame can be eliminated.

You're still going to need brickwork in a house, so you're not really gaining anything other than unneeded strength with steel beams. Unless you want sheet iron as your walls I guess.

Just about to say this. Price the steel frame op, then you realise why houses have supporter walls.

Because it's actually a modern day ark for the imminent flood they are buliding and not a house.
