    Just wondering how does penalty point affect your insurance. What is people's experiences of this.

    12 points gives you a 100% discount on your insurance for six months.

    Thought that it might have changed when the points went up.
    I know people with two offences (4points) and it didn't affect the insurance. So just wondering if you had 2 from the old system and then got 3 from the new system, still two offences but now it's 5 points.

    I heard 2-3 points isn't so bad as you know you have to drive more carefully as you now have points. But 4+ is a bad place to be

    I got 3 points (speed camera van) and my insurance went up by €225
