I've a driving test Tuesday morning which I'm preparing for and I've just found a problem with my car that the driver window won't always go down. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

I'm wondering what'll happen during the test if the driver window won't go down, will it result in me failing :(? I know the hand signals so can demonstrate them and talk them just not sure if I'll be able to do them for real if the window doesn't work.

What time is your test? I'd be trying to sort it early on Tuesday if possible. Tests are sometimes curtailed where safety becomes are concern and because operation of the windows is associated with roadworthiness I'd be thinking of the possibility of the test being curtailed or cancelled.

It's more than likely that even if it were not working at all you'd be able to avoid bringing attention to it but I think it's probably something that can be fixed by a technician in no time at all.

Get that sorted. The tester will ask you to roll down your window and perform various signals (i.e. let the person behind you that youre turning right, left or stopping).

I presume that if you dont roll down your window, for various reasons, then that will result in the tester giving you 3 faults, or possibly failing you.

    Don't worry about it.
for safety reasons I'd recommend getting it fixed, but don't bring it to the attention of the tester at the start of the test.
when your asks you to demonstrate your hand signals and your window won't go down just tell him its acting up and demonstrate them in the car to the best of your ability. ( Short hand movements to the right)
You can't fail on hand signals, even if you get all 5 wrong, plus you test can't be abandoned ones started just because your window won't go down.
    Hope that helps
