My partner has to send Job applications to Ireland from the UK that have a deadline of Tuesday. As she is still doing them and wants to do as many as she can she won't be in a position to post them until morning at the latest.

Rang the royal mail. They said the letters will be in Ireland by Saturday morning if posted first thing tomorrow but that they have no idea of the Irish postal system so couldn't say if they would be there by Tuesday morning.

I have also just been informed Monday is a bank holiday at home which hampers it further.

Can anyone advise of a way of guaranteeing the applications get to their various destinations by Tuesday morning? Obviously a DHL type service could work but would be very pricey. (but will look good if the school has to sign for them) . I will be looking at different options when I get back to my laptop but thought perhaps some of you guys may have or may use this type of service regularly and could recommend them.

    Thanks in advance.

Also mods please feel free to move as needed couldn't find a postal forum.... Thanks

Any chance of scanning the applications to pdf and emailing them to the relevant people?

Nope. Unfortunately the schools at home are backward and only a small handful accept online or emailed applications.... Which is shocking to me

An Post do registered post too, which is like a DHL type service. But you're going to have to pay one of them for registered post to ensure it gets there at a particular time.

Email them to someone at home to print and to drop them in or print them and post them from Ireland so they would almost certainly arrive if posted tomorrow.

They'll actually be loading the half of them back on a plane to england in the middle of next week. Some fella looking at the addresses on them - 'wait a minute? ...i better lie down for an hour'

I'd use DPD OP. They are my regular supplier in the courier end of my work, they collect from us once a day, and deliver each day too.

    Couldn't fault then tbh.

Email them to someone in ireland to print out and drop them for you, or post by express post....http://www.anpost.ie/AnPost/MainContent/Business+Customers/Sending+Mail/Speed/Express+Post.htm email them to a friend or family member then express post sorted!
