I am opening a food shop and cookery school with a few tables to run a small scale cafe
Our premises are not licensed and our main purpose is the food shop selling artisan bread cakes ready made meals and dry goods
We also run a small cafe on site, (35 seats)
Do our toilets need to be lobbied? If so we loose vital 8 bar stool seats
Where can I get more information

Of course. Check building regulations and no doubt, there are also food safety regulations. Talk to the environmental health sections in the HSE and local council.

Would you prefer your customers to get (a) food poisoning (b) a waft of the smells from the toilets (c) a view of the toilets (and contents) as people come and go?

And of course, your whole business shut down?

Select your premises with great care. wheelchair accesible toilets - and lobbys - demand a lot of space.

Your fire safety certificate and disability access certificate will show the area and space required.
