Condit via Late Round TKO i think. His pressure will be too much for Alves IMO and will wear him out pretty fast.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,326 ✭✭✭MartyMcFly84

I agree Alves has never been known for his cardio. He tends to have very strong first round then fades.

Condit can keep a high pace for the full fight, although not renowned for his power.

I think it will go much like Johnson v DC. Alves will come out strong get tired and Condit will take over.

What an awful card. Nik Lentz was meant to be a Prelim on the Henderson/Thatch card and he's co main here!

Hope Norman Parke does the business and he really should.

Yeah its not great is it?! Looking forward to seeing Condit though, always had a soft spot for him. Must be over a year now since he's fought?

Love watching Condit fight, so the main event should be good . The rest of the card is one big meh. I'll watch it with fast-forward at the ready I think.

    Hon Juliana!

Some abs and arms on her and then amazingly spindley legs.

edit: and a near standard tattoo covering half her back.

Nice. What happened with the knee there?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

Beautiful finish. You cant knee someone when they around grounded/downed. The thing with the rule though is that to be grounded means having more than the soles of your feet on the mat, so fighters use their hand to touch the mat and as such are grounded. When he was taking the knees his hand was on the mat so it was illegal.

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

Thats also why Stann was saying the rule should be abolished, it allows fighters to touch the mat and sort of cheat the rule rather than it be there to stop people getting hurt when they are downed on the mat. The fighter who is attacking is standing with the fighter and at the time sees both his hands off the mat then as he goes to knee in a legal position the other fighter drops his hand to the mat and the knee instantly becomes illegal.

Going with Wendell Oliveira with the KO in the next.

Needs a ko alright ,judges will give it to Trinaldo otherwise

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

He was trying to time takedowns that just werent an option, Trinaldo was in his face the whole round. All or nothing now, needs the KO.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭seanhynes

Very unimpressive, the judges will give it to Trinaldo ,piss poor that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,513 ✭✭✭seanhynes

Deserved tbh ,didn't strike half enough looked shattered too early

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

Not really, bad decision there imo. 3rd round he put the work in and was more dominant for the most part but he wasted too much time trying to get the submission when he could have flattened him out and went for the finish like he did for the last 15 seconds. Thats 2 now he has lost to Brazilians on points where he really should have got the win.

Know what u mean he was in control alright it could have gone either way ,he just wasn't ruthless enough on the mat, nothing locked in but I know it can win rounds ,close but home advantage prob did it but just about

I doubt Parke will take another fight in Brazil. He was penalised very softly after winning the fight against Santos and then he won two rounds against Trinaldo but didn't do enough to make too heavy a stamp for the home town judges to ignore. It's crap to see it.

Then it clearly wasnt deserved by Trinaldo when you said it was, it was awarded based on home advantage and a bad decision. I will rewatch it tomorrow but I dont see how in anywhere but Brazil it could be scored any way other than Parke winning 2 rounds to 1.

I don't but I won 2 rounds to 1...almost finished it in the 3rd. Don't get me wrong he was tough but wrong decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,911 ✭✭✭bradlente

Was surprised when Jimmo's corner told him he was 2 down there,Barroso might've had the 2nd marginally but does he not get penalised for the low kick?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 10,462 Mod ✭✭✭✭Axwell

It was accidental, first time is always pretty much a warning. If it happened again they would remove a point

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,911 ✭✭✭bradlente

Ah right, killed the fight altogether.Seems like one judge might've taken it off him with the 29-28.

Its not the judges that take it off, the ref calls it and tells them to dock a point.

29-28 means you won 2 rounds and lost 1.

Same scoring system as boxing, 10 to winner of a round, then 9 or less for the other guy.

    So 10/10/9 =29
    9/9/10 =28
