Would anyone be able to advise the quickest way to get from Ratoath to East Point Business park? I may be starting work there but not sure of commute times or which is quickest, car/bus or train?

    Anyone any suggestions??

Car for sure.. Inbound on the N/M3 or M2 to the M50, northbound towards the port tunnel but take the exit immediately beside it to come down into Whitehall, left via Collins Ave to the Malahide Rd and then down into Fairview/Clontarf. Did this for a year myself via the M3 from Viriginia in Cavan.

Bus/train would mean getting into town (Connolly) only to have to get a DART/bus back out to Fairview and walking/getting the shuttle bus from there... expensive and time consuming!

One thing to be aware of is that parking in Eastpoint is very limited so unless you have a space at your office, you may struggle.

€2.67 is the single fare from Dunboyne to Clontarf Road on a Leap Card. It's €2.41 to Connolly or Docklands (You can walk to East Point and access it's rear entrance from here) which has direct services at peak times. These aren't expensive fares by any means.

Do they charge for parking at Dunboyne? What time will he need to be there to avoid the (c)rush? How long does it take to walk from Connolly to EP?

My point is that it's still an awkward, longer trip by public transport and if he has a car and parking at the office I'd be taking that option myself (as someone who did it for a year :))

I used to do it to/from Virginia in about 70/80 mins most days (although that was leaving slightly off-peak a few years ago when the recession was still affecting traffic).

I'd say you'd do it in about 30-45 mins if you get the timing right

Parking is free at Dunboyne and M 3 Parkway (Another option I should have mentioned) and there are 300 and 1200 spaces respectively. M 3 is a terminal station so seats will be easily sought on board; Dunboyne a little less so. The single to both stations from M 3 is €3.49 FTR.

I don't know how long the walk is from Connolly but as there are stations closer than it then it won't be a factor here :)

I'm not getting into critique anything else here other than to show that the option of traveling by rail is not expensive as you did state.

Options from M3/Dunboyne would be take the train to Docklands, an 8 minute walk to opposite the Liffey Trust on Upper Sherriff Street, and the free shuttle bus from there, or a 25 minute walk directly to Eastpoint Business Park from Docklands Station.

Maybe that's not as easy as using the car, but it is a viable option.

    Hi All
My Daughter is getting a post for a year in East Point. Starts at 9, finishes at 5.30.:)

She has to use Public Transport so its either:
-Train to Connolly, Dart to Clontarf and walk or Shuttle Bus to East Point
-Train to Connolly, Luas to Point Depot & Shuttle Bus
    - Bus to Sustom House Quay, Luas to Point Depot & Shuttle Bus

    Any recommendations?
What's the Shuttle Bus Service like?

There is another option which is train from Kilcock to Clonsilla, change there to train to Docklands station.

Then walk east along Upper Sherriff Street and shuttle bus from near the Point Depot to East Point.

Getting the 07:23 train from Kilcock, she could transfer at Clonsilla with a 7 minute wait, arriving at Docklands at 08:16.

Returning would require going via Connolly Station however.
