If I was getting a man with a jeep and a trailer to draw 3 calfs for me in the following order:

    35 mile empty
    35 mile loaded
    40 mile empty

He's a friend but I need to cover his cost as he won't want anything - What would be a fair price?

Good friend if he wants nothing for 110 mile. Especially for 3 calves, is there no dealers or hauliers that will draw them in a part load?

That's generous, there's one calf gone anyway, it's gone over a 100 to fill a jeep again if the feckin orange light is on:eek:

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

Ah yeah but he is a mate and a good one at that. its a 100 miles and most of a day also the calves are in a snug box not much chance of picking up any thing.

Have you a bit of rope and a roof rack?

Have you a car with a tow hitch. You could borrow a small box abd draw them yourself. Even calves that are 4 months old will in general weight less than 150kgs if bucket fed.

30 bucks for 110 mile with a trailer. It'd want to be a small trailer.

Long way to go with a jeep. 50 bucks for diesel and 50 for the man. Or go with a car, van and small trailer yourself for 30 eur diesel?

Petrol costs + Implicit promise of return an equivalent favour - that's the way I'd work it.
