Friend of mine is small cattle farmer has had trouble with another farmers sheep keep breaking in last year or 2. He only fenced it last weekend and there back in again. He has went to the farmer and told him about the sheep but falling on deaf ears and they the family think they own the area. Are the gards next port of call or lawyers?

How about the dept? I'd get into them before guards or lawyers first anyways.

Threat of a few inspections or a loss in SFP might help?

EDIT : as a sheep farmer, I should say how lucky your friend is, to have sheep coming in improving their grassland... ;)

It never ceases to amaze the amount of money I've spent and continue to spend on sheep wire. And I've never owned any sheep!

Could you stick one or two in the freezer? Get a bit of value for your grass.
