    Can it be done with UPC?....tried all the rebooting and unplugging of the router overnight no change

    What device do you want to the change, the router or a PC ?

    The Dynamic IP that UPC provide....it has changed a few times in the past but not in well over a year

    if you call them they'll just tell you to turn it off and then back on again, as that's how it works.

    UPC's IP assignment is pretty 'sticky'. Even if you left the router turned off for a week, you could still get the same one when you turn it back on. If you contact customer support with a really good reason, and happen to get someone who understands the issues involved, you might get them to change it, but it's not very likely.

    Which is pretty understandable, there's very rarely a good reason from their point of view
