Just getting back into the game and i find that when I'm playing and I'm miles away, whether that's having the craic with the boys or playing on my own with my head phones in, i play much better than when I'm really trying to put a score togther.

I've looked at a few aspects of Bob Rotella's on line but I'm wondering if anyone here uses some of his points or anyone else's? Or, if you have a few thoughts on mental preperations/techniques yourself.

I like Karl Morris' new book called Attention. It talks about the pre-shot routine and how to focus your attention on what matters using good questions.

    Worth a look IMHO

I bought a couple of bobs audio books I find it easier to take in the info that way. He talks about being very focused on the target and trusting your swing on the course. It works really well, I can really get into the zone. When I play bad I notice I'm not picking targets and generally fatigued and i struggle.
