I have a few dodgy looking moles and would like to get them checked and removed. Do I need to go to GP then hospital dermatogist? Or is there anywhere in Galway I can get this done more quickly? I am a private patient with Vhi.

You could make an appointment to see Dr. Rita O'Halloran at Claddagh medical center in the Crescent. She does procedures like that under local anaesthetic at her surgery. It should be completely covered by your insurance but check that.

Start with your GP, they'll be well used to referring to private specialists when necessary.

As above. Gp goes first and if anything worth further investigation, your gp will get you an appointment with a consultant. Got mapped and had one removed in the bons secour in Galway a while ago
