Car Hire Question

    Hey guys I sold my car a while ago as I wasn't using it. Since selling my car, I have let my license expire. I am currently actively looking for work. How soon, I can start a job could be dependent on how quickly I can get on the road. Seem to me the quickest way might be to hire a car for a week or so till, I can find a suitable car.
    Q. Will any car hire hire companies in Ireland, hire a car to me while I wait for my renewed license.
    Q. What is the legal position with me, if I start to drive again, regarding producing a license while, I await my new license?

    Any time i have hire a car they have taken details off the license which i would assume is for insurance reasons.
    If you dont have a valid license with you id say they wont give you a hire car
