Dpf delete and nct

So got my dpf cleaned about 4 months ago along with 6 new glow plugs and the glow plug sensor which what was causing the dpf to block up.

Well this morning the dpf warning came back up. Was thinking about getting a new one but was recommended to get it cut out, blanked and remapped.

The last time I was looking at options when the warning light went off I came across a site that said that there is a new regulation for the nct that you need a dpf for emissions and if not you will fail. Anyone ever heard of that or put a car through recently without a dpf ?

    The car is a 535d

They recently started testing it in the UK MOT afaik so there is talk of them following suit over here but as of now it is not checked or tested to my knowledge.

I would favour boring out the original one rather than welding a new section in as it would look standard for a tester.
Currently I don't thing they're checking for presence of dpf, but afaik it's coming. Don't know if they'll be testing its effectiveness.

Worth pointing out that dpf deletes are not good for people's health. As-in unfiltered exhaust of a modern diesel is worse in some ways than old fashioned diesel smoke.

Nothing coming in the NCT for dpf delete.
Get the dpf hacked out and welded back up and mapped out.

While not in now it is bound to be in soon, 2 major TV shows in the UK detailing the health dangers of diesel cars even with the DPF's fitted, those without are much worse and bound to be something on the horizon here seeing as cars given cheap motor tax for emissions but don't actually comply with that assessment.

Since when do we follow anything the UK does with cars?

Do we follow their road tax system?
Do we follow how they do the NCT ( MOT )
Do we follow how the have no VRT?

Is it not just a visual check in the UK for a DPF?

I can tell you now there is absolutely no talk of DPF testing here.

Isn't the company running the NCT a UK Company? I'm sure they are likely to tender suggestions. No?

Any greeny worth their himalayan salt will tell you the amount of particulates and nox emitted locally are irrelevant and that only CO2 matters.

In fact your car would be even better for the environment (by greeny standards) after a DPF and cat delete as less CO2 would be produced as the car would be more efficient.

Tis a wonder the CO2 brigade arent pushing for dpfs and cats to be outlawed to be honest.

A DPF does nothing for the gaseous emissions.

CO and NOx are still emitted, DPF or not, as the DPF is a particulate filter, ie stops carbon dust entering the air.

    Applus+ are a Spanish company.
They have absolutely no input into what should (or shouldn't) be tested during the NCT inspection.
